Dense black fruits (blackberry, blueberry, blackcurrant) with violets, white pepper, smoked meat and dark chocolate. Powerful, savory core with chalky texture, chewy tannins and a long, spicy finish.

Hand-harvested and rigorously sorted; fermented and matured ~16 months in French oak (approximately 80% new). Low yields from steep, granitic-scree soils.

Produced by Viña Montes (founded 1988 by Aurelio Montes). Folly is Montes' flagship Apalta Syrah from high, steep slopes of Finca de Apalta.
