Tasting Note
Pure black and blue fruits (blackberry, plum) with dried herbs, violet floral lift and slate/mineral chalk. Medium-plus body, savory blood/iron note and firm, tea-like tannins leading to a long, mineral finish.
Food Pairing
Western: grilled steak/asado, roast lamb, beef empanadas, aged cheeses (Manchego); Asian: Korean BBQ, char siu or teriyaki beef, Sichuan beef or dan dan noodles, yakitori (chicken skewers) and umami mushroom stir-fries.
Production Method
Selected Paraje Altamira fruit fermented ~50% whole-cluster in concrete vats/eggs with native yeasts; short maceration (~20 days), malolactic fermentation and 8–10 months ageing in concrete (no oak).
Vineyard Info
Familia Zuccardi, a leading Mendoza family estate (Sebastián Zuccardi), focuses on terroir-driven wines from high-altitude, stony Paraje Altamira sites using minimal-intervention techniques.
