Awards/Ratings
Notable scores for the No. 1 line: James Halliday ~96, James Suckling ~96, WineFront ~96; Tyson Stelzer high praise (97–98). Langton's Classification: 'Outstanding' (house classification for Dry Red No. 1)
Tasting Note
Perfumed dark-berry and cassis notes with bay leaf, sage and cedar. Bright acidity, fine-grained ripe tannins and mixed-spice oak, delivering a focused, medium–full palate and a long, savory finish.
Food Pairing
Roast lamb, grilled rib-eye, mushroom risotto, aged cheddar; Asian pairings: Peking duck, char siu, Korean BBQ short ribs, beef rendang, hoisin-glazed dishes.
Production Method
Hand-harvested; components vinified separately (Cabernet crushed/destemmed, others often whole-berry), open/closed fermenters, matured ~12–15 months in French oak (circa 35–40% new), blended and bottled.
