Awards/Ratings
High critical acclaim from specialist reviewers — Lobenberg has scored Tête de Ponts in the mid-90s (95–97 for adjacent vintages) and the cuvée is widely sought-after on the secondary market; frequently listed by merchants
Tasting Note
Concentrated Pinot Noir: dark cherry, cranberry and red-berry fruit with rose and floral topnotes, spice, cocoa and balsamic undertones. Plush fruit balanced by taut acidity and a very long, elegant finish.
Food Pairing
Western: roast duck, beef Bourguignon, mushroom risotto, roasted game, aged comté or camembert. Asian: Peking duck, char siu or hoisin-glazed pork, miso-glazed aubergine, mushroom hot pot, Korean BBQ (pork/beef).
Production Method
Minimal-intervention naturals: whole-cluster spontaneous fermentations on native yeasts, little/no added SO2, aged in 100% new oak barriques for 2–3 years for this cuvée.
Vineyard Info
Made by Yann Durieux (Recrue des Sens), a ~3-hectare family domaine near Nuits-Saint-Georges; farmed organically/biodynamically, Yann formerly worked at Prieuré-Roch and focuses on terroir-driven, low-intervention wines.
