Tasting Note

Perfumed, concentrated Grenache: wild black cherry, raspberry, dark plum, liquorice and baking spice with savoury bay leaf/juniper notes. Medium-bodied with fine, sandy tannins, bright acidity and a long, spicy finish.


Food Pairing

Roast lamb, grilled pork or beef, charcuterie, ratatouille; Asian pairings: Korean BBQ, Peking duck, char siu, spicy Sichuan stir‑fry, teriyaki chicken.


Production Method

Hand‑harvested from 1946 bush vines; 50% whole berries, cold soak and wild‑yeast open ferments, gentle extraction, matured about 9–12 months in older French oak; minimal intervention, biodynamic farming.

Yangarra Estate Vineyard (Blewitt Springs, McLaren Vale). Biodynamic single‑estate; old bush vines planted 1946. Peter Fraser (winemaker) and Michael Lane (viticulture) oversee quality; owned by Jackson Family Wines since 2000/01.
