Tasting Note

Perfumed, brambly red fruits (raspberry, cherry) with dried herbs, liquorice and gentle spice; fine sandy tannins, bright acidity and a gently drying finish.

Western: roast lamb, grilled beef, charcuterie, ratatouille, tomato-based pizza. Asian: Korean BBQ, char siu (Cantonese roast pork), Sichuan stir-fry, Indonesian/Malaysian satay.


Production Method

Biodynamic estate fruit from 1946 bush vines; hand-picked, 50/50 crushed and whole berries, cold-soak and wild open ferment, matured in older French/Austrian oak, foudre and amphora; minimal intervention, lightly filtered.

Yangarra Estate (founded 2001, owned by Jackson Family Wines) on deep sandy soils; winemaker Peter Fraser; vineyards farmed organically/biodynamically with unirrigated 1946 bush vines.
