Tasting Note

Perfumed red fruits (raspberry, pomegranate) with rose petal, Turkish delight, Chinese five‑spice and clove. Silky, plush texture, fine-grained tannins, mineral undertow and a very long, spicy finish.


Food Pairing

Roast duck with cherries, lamb, grilled pork belly, kangaroo tartare, charcuterie and aged cheeses; Asian pairings: Peking duck, char siu, Korean BBQ, spicy Sichuan dishes.


Production Method

Hand-picked from Block 31 (1946 bush vines). 50% whole berries, wild-yeast open ferment, minimum 21-day maceration; no pressings. Aged 11 months on lees in older French oak and ceramic eggs; bottled March 2020.

Yangarra Estate single-vineyard (Blewitt Springs). Block 31 (1.7 ha) sits on deep sands at 210m; old vines planted 1946. Estate managed organically and biodynamically; Peter Fraser (winemaker) and Michael Lane (viticulture).
