Tasting Note
Opaque ruby with aromas of black cherry, plum, violet, mint and cocoa. Lush dark fruit, chocolate, toffee and liquorice; firm but refined structure, fresh acidity and a long, graceful finish.
Food Pairing
Dark chocolate, blue cheeses, fruitcake, roasted or Peking duck with hoisin, Chinese five-spice pork, sticky rice desserts, and rich Portuguese desserts. Also excellent with nuts and strong-flavoured pâtés.
Production Method
Hand-harvested, traditional foot-treading in granite lagares; fermentation fortified with neutral grape spirit and matured in oak casks before bottling in Vila Nova de Gaia.
Vineyard Info
