Tasting Note
Amber-tinged tawny with dried fig, caramel, toasted almond, maple and gentle spice. Smooth, honeyed palate with bright acidity and a long, nutty, slightly smoky finish.
Food Pairing
Western: aged/blue cheeses (Stilton), crème brûlée, pecan pie, dark chocolate, foie gras. Asian: Peking duck, Chinese red-braised pork (hong shao rou), char siu, mooncakes and sweet rice desserts (mango sticky rice).
Production Method
Blend of Douro grapes fortified with grape spirit during fermentation; matured an average ~3 years in oak casks as a non-vintage tawny before bottling.
