Tasting Note

Deep violet with ripe plum, blackberry, violet and dark cherry. Concentrated, elegant and layered with sweet, fine tannins, cedar and mineral notes; long, refined finish with black fruit and subtle baking-spice notes.

Grilled ribeye, roasted lamb chops, beef stew, aged cheeses (Manchego), Argentine asado; Korean BBQ (bulgogi), teriyaki beef, spicy Sichuan beef, miso-glazed eggplant, char siu pork.


Production Method

Hand-harvested Malbec; fermented in stainless steel with some whole-cluster; spontaneous malolactic; aged 18 months in French oak (≈61% new); unfined and lightly filtered.

Founded by Paul Hobbs in 1999, Viña Cobos sources high-elevation Mendoza sites (Uco Valley, Luján de Cuyo). The flagship Cobos Malbec is the winery’s icon, built from estate and select vineyard blocks.
