Tasting Note

Fragrant Barolo of rose, violet, wild strawberry, cherry and raspberry with sweet spice, menthol, licorice and mineral undertones. Silky, rounded tannins, bright acidity and a long, elegant finish.


Food Pairing

Western: roast beef, fillet steak, braised short ribs, truffle pasta, mushroom risotto, aged cheeses. Asian: Peking duck, Korean BBQ, char siu, braised beef noodle soup, rich Sichuan dishes.


Production Method

Hand-harvested Nebbiolo; ~60% whole-cluster fermentation in stainless steel after cold maceration; ~3-week maceration; malolactic in wood; ~24 months ageing in large oak casks; bottled unfined/unfiltered.


Vineyard Info

Vietti, founded late 1800s in Castiglione Falletto. 2018 was the inaugural Monvigliero cru release from ~44–50 year-old vines. Small production (≈3,200 bottles). Krause family ownership since 2016.
