Tasting Note
Dense dark-plum and blackberry fruit with black pepper spice, mulberry and a hint of tobacco; medium-full body, fresh acidity, fine-grained tannins and a long, spicy finish.

Food Pairing
Western: grilled lamb, venison, rib‑eye, beef stews, aged cheddar. Asian: Korean BBQ, Sichuan beef, char siu, Malaysian beef rendang.

Production Method
Hand‑picked fruit, ~15% whole stems added; 24h cold soak, fermented ~26°C with 21-day maceration, malolactic in stainless, matured ~15 months in French oak (c.25% new).

Vergelegen is a historic Stellenbosch estate (300+ years). Reserve Shiraz sourced from Rooiland vineyards; modern winemaking under André van Rensburg with international consultants.
