Tasting Note
Concentrated black-fruit core (blackberry, plum) with violets, dark chocolate and hoisin spice. Powerful, mineral-driven backbone, velvety yet muscular tannins and an epic, persistent finish.

Food Pairing
Western: roast lamb, braised short ribs, beef Wellington, mushroom risotto, aged hard cheeses. Asian: Peking duck, char siu, Korean BBQ beef, soy-braised short ribs, beef rendang.

Production Method
Hand-harvested; fermented in small concrete vats with careful sorting; élevage ~18 months in about 50% new French oak; traditional destemming and gentle extraction.

Owned by Établissements Jean-Pierre Moueix since 1953. Vineyard ~7.2 ha on gravel and deep clay with iron-rich “crasse de fer”; old Merlot-dominated vines focused on low yields and rigorous canopy work.
