Tasting Note
Light-to-medium body with dried cherry, tobacco, leather, orange peel, spice and cedar; lively acidity, firm polished tannins and a savory, slightly oxidative tertiary edge. Long, classic Rioja finish.

Food Pairing
Western: roast lamb, beef stew, grilled pork, charcuterie and Manchego. Asian: Peking duck, char siu, Korean BBQ (bulgogi), teriyaki beef, mushroom stir-fries.

Production Method
Hand-harvested; destemmed, fermented in large oak tuns; aged six years in used American oak barrels, racked twice yearly, fined with egg whites and bottled unfiltered.

R. López de Heredia (founded 1877) family-run, produces from the Viña Tondonia estate (planted 1913–14) in Haro; famed for traditional methods and extended barrel and bottle ageing.
