Tasting Note

Pale gold with citrus, dried pear, toasted almonds, beeswax, honey and subtle spice. Bright acidity, medium body and a nutty, saline finish with rendered oak and mineral complexity.

Western: grilled or baked white fish, shellfish, roast chicken, creamy pasta, mushrooms, aged sheep cheeses. Asian: sushi/sashimi, tempura, miso-glazed cod, grilled prawns, Chinese roast pork, mild Thai coconut dishes.


Production Method

Hand-harvested Viura fermented in old oak vats with indigenous yeasts; matured about four years in well-seasoned American oak, racked regularly, fined with egg whites, bottled unfiltered and aged in bottle before release.

Produced by Bodegas R. López de Heredia Viña Tondonia from the Viña Gravonia (Zaconia) vineyard near the Ebro; traditional family-owned Haro estate (founded 1877) farming old Viura vines.
