Wine Spectator 92 points (Alison Napjus, Oct 2023); positive Wine Enthusiast tasting notes; Natalie MacLean community score ~93/100
Tasting Note
Fragrant citrus and stone fruits (blood orange, apricot, white peach) with honey, candied ginger, cardamom and floral notes. Bright, mouth‑watering acidity balances ripe sweetness, leaving a long, spicy‑orange finish.
Food Pairing
Western: foie gras, blue‑veined cheeses, apricot tart, almond cake. Asian: Peking duck, hoisin‑glazed pork, mildly spicy Thai curries, mango sticky rice, Cantonese dim sum with sweet sauces.
Production Method
Hand‑harvested, multiple passes to select botrytised (noble rot) berries; gentle pressing, controlled fermentation (partially stopped), short aging in Hungarian oak barrels and further bottle ageing.
Vineyard Info
Oremus (part of Vega Sicilia group) is a historic Tokaj estate with ~100 ha across classic plots in Tokaj‑Hegyalja, producing Late Harvest and Aszú wines since historic references in the 17th century.
