Tasting Note
Maritime peat smoke, sea-salt and iodine with sweet malt, dried fruit and citrus zest. Peppery black-pepper spice and warm oak lead to a long, warming, smoky finish.
Food Pairing
Grilled/roasted red meats, smoked salmon or kippers, strong cheddar or blue cheese, dark chocolate; Asian pairings: miso-glazed fish, yakitori, Korean BBQ, Sichuan pepper dishes, or smoked/charred yakitori.
Production Method
Single malt from 100% malted barley, moderately peated (~18–22 ppm), distilled in pot stills and matured a minimum 10 years mainly in ex‑American oak (bourbon) casks; usually chill-filtered and coloured.
Vineyard Info
Talisker distillery, founded 1830 in Carbost on the Isle of Skye, is owned by Diageo and forms part of the Classic Malts range. Renowned for maritime, peaty single malts.
