Tasting Note

Medium–to–full bodied Saint-Julien: blackcurrant, plum and blackberry with cedar, tobacco, dried herbs and a mineral/iron note; firm grainy tannins and a savory, slightly earthy finish, elegant and structured with good freshness.

Roast lamb, beef ribeye, venison or roast game; aged hard cheeses; Asian: Peking duck, char siu (roast pork), Korean BBQ (bulgogi/grilled short ribs), beef rendang.


Production Method

Hand-harvested grapes; sorted (manual and optical), fermented in tank (wood or stainless steel), aged ~15 months in oak (approx. 50% new oak).


Vineyard Info

Château Talbot, a Fourth Growth (1855) in Saint-Julien, is family-owned by the Cordier/Bignon-Cordier family since 1917/18; estate ~100–110 ha on fine gravel soils.
