Awards/Ratings
Key critics: Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 95 (barrel/sample), Jasper Morris 96, Burghound/Allen Meadows ~94–96; multiple retailers list 95 points for the 2020 Malconsorts
Tasting Note
Powerful Vosne-Romanée: dark cherry and wild berry core with plum, floral spice, forest-floor/mineral notes, fine but firm tannins, muscular mid‑palate and saline, explosively long finish.
Food Pairing
Western: roasted duck, roast game birds, beef short ribs, mushroom risotto, coq au vin. Asian: Peking duck, char siu or roast pork, braised pork belly, shiitake mushroom hotpot, bulgogi.
Production Method
Hand-harvested fruit; fermentation with indigenous yeasts, mostly destemmed with extended maceration; aged ~12–18 months in French oak (majority new for premiers crus, reduced in recent years).
Vineyard Info
Small family domaine in Vosne‑Romanée (expanded to ~8 ha); Sylvain Cathiard inherited long‑held village parcels; low yields, meticulous viticulture and careful sorting. Élevage practices have moved toward less new oak since 2014.
