Awards/Ratings
Neal Martin (Vinous) 95-97, James Suckling 97-98, Wine Spectator 95, Jancis Robinson 18/20, Falstaff 94; praised for purity, balance and long aging potential
Tasting Note
Lush honeyed apricot and dried mango with candied citrus, quince and beeswax; ginger, toasted coconut and botrytis spice lift a dense, silky palate with bright citrus acidity and a very long, honeyed finish.
Food Pairing
Foie gras, crème brûlée, fruit tarts, blue cheese (Roquefort), panna cotta; Asian: mildly spicy Thai or Szechuan dishes, Peking duck, dim sum with rich sauces.
Production Method
Late-harvest grapes affected by noble rot (Botrytis cinerea), multiple selective picks, fermentation in tank and small oak barrels, aged in French oak barriques (partial new oak) for extended maturation.
