Tasting Note

Fresh red cherry and plum core with baking spice, clove and subtle vanilla oak; medium-bodied, silky texture, fine-grained tannins and a balanced, slightly savory finish.

Roast duck, grilled salmon, lamb chops, mushroom risotto; Asian: Peking duck, miso-glazed salmon, char siu pork, Korean BBQ, teriyaki aubergine.


Production Method

Hand-harvested fruit; open-vat fermentation (indigenous yeasts), pressed off skins and matured ~12 months in French oak (new + used); bottled under screwcap.

Spy Valley (Johnson family) established in 1993 in Waihopai Valley, Marlborough. Family-owned, estate vineyards on free-draining terraces; strong sustainability focus and international exports.
