Tasting Note
Lightly peated Campbeltown single malt: honeyed vanilla, citrus peel, marzipan and digestive-biscuit malt, with toasted marshmallow, coastal salinity and gentle smoky finish. Oily, medium-full mouthfeel with spice and lingering sea-salt smoke.
Food Pairing
Western: grilled lamb, smoked salmon, aged cheddar, beef brisket, chocolate tart. Asian: miso‑glazed black cod, yakitori, Korean BBQ, char siu, spicy Sichuan beef.
Production Method
Floor-malted barley (malted at Springbank), double distilled at Glengyle, matured ~70% ex-bourbon and ~30% ex-sherry casks. Bottled 46% ABV, non‑chillfiltered, natural colour; small-batch Campbeltown production.
Vineyard Info
Produced at Mitchell’s Glengyle (Kilkerran), reopened 2004 by the Mitchell family (owners of Springbank). Family-run distillery using traditional methods and limited annual output.
