Tasting Note

Concentrated blackcurrant, baked plum and blackberry compote with cedar, graphite, espresso and Indian spice. Silky yet firm tannins, dense palate and a long mineral-tinged finish.


Food Pairing

Western: grilled ribeye, roast lamb, braised short ribs, mushroom risotto, aged hard cheeses. Asian: Peking duck, Cantonese char siu (roast pork), Korean BBQ (galbi), Chinese red-braised beef/pork (hong shao rou).


Production Method

Hand-harvested; extended maceration (~45–55 days); some lots fermented in barrel; matured in French oak (estimated 18–22 months).


Vineyard Info

Sloan Estate (Rutherford, Napa) -- inaugural 2000 vintage, ~13 acres on volcanic/sandy-loam soils. Purchased by the Pan family in 2011; longstanding consulting winemakers (Michel Rolland, later Martha McClellan).
