Tasting Note
Deep mahogany with amber rim; intense notes of bittersweet dark chocolate, espresso, dried figs, treacle, orange peel and rancio. Velvety, viscous texture with concentrated dried-fruit sweetness and a long, mouthwatering finish.
Food Pairing
Western: dark chocolate, crème brûlée, sticky date pudding, blue cheese, roasted nuts. Asian: Chinese five-spice duck, Peking duck, red-braised pork, salted duck egg yolk pastries, sticky rice desserts.
Production Method
Single-vintage red fortified blend, partially fermented then fortified with grape spirit and matured oxidatively in oak puncheons in the Centennial Cellar for 100 years with regular topping and gradual concentration.
Vineyard Info
Seppeltsfield estate (Barossa) — family-founded cellar with an unbroken Centennial Cellar since 1878. Benno Seppelt began the 100‑year Para tradition; the winery still releases one 100‑year single‑vintage Para each year.
