Tasting Note

Earthy, medium-bodied Pinot Noir with blackberries, raspberry, dried flowers and forest floor, lifted by lavender, cardamom and savory laurel; bright acidity, fine-grained ripe tannins and a long, energetic finish.

Western: roast duck, coq au vin, mushroom risotto, grilled salmon. Asian: Peking duck, char siu, miso-glazed black cod, shiitake ramen.


Production Method

Hand-harvested fruit from Hillcrest; small-lot fermentation with gentle extraction; aged ~10 months in French oak (≈30% new); lightly filtered before bottling.

Senses, founded in 2011 by three friends with winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown, sources fruit from their original Hillcrest Vineyard near Occidental, planted to multiple Pinot clones and sustainably farmed.
