Tasting Note
Dense black-fruit core of cassis, plum and blackberry with floral lift, iodine/graphite, cedar and cocoa. Silky ripe tannins, lively acidity and a very long, mineral finish.
Food Pairing
Western: grilled ribeye, roast lamb, braised short rib, aged cheeses (cheddar, Manchego). Asian: Korean BBQ (bulgogi), char siu, Peking duck, Sichuan beef dishes, rich Japanese sukiyaki.
Production Method
Hand-harvested, fermented in stainless/temperature-controlled vats, blended and aged ~22 months in French oak (mix of new barriques and Stockinger foudres); vineyards managed with biodynamic principles.
Vineyard Info
Seña was launched in 1995 as a joint project between Eduardo Chadwick and Robert Mondavi; since 2005 it is owned by the Chadwick/Errázuriz group. Estate vineyards (≈42 ha) in Aconcagua supply the flagship Bordeaux-style blend.
