Awards/Ratings
Falstaff 96 points (2019 tasting)
Tasting Note
Candied pineapple, mirabelle and honeyed stone-fruit with clear botrytis; viscous, opulent palate balanced by bright, juicy acidity, slatey minerality and a very long, refined finish.
Food Pairing
Western: foie gras, blue cheeses, fruit tarts, crème brûlée, roast duck with orange. Asian: Peking duck, rich pork belly, dim sum (savory dumplings), spicy Szechuan or Thai dishes (contrast heat with sweetness).
Production Method
Hand-harvest of individually selected, botrytized berries; cool, slow fermentation (often native yeasts) in stainless steel after gentle pressing; minimal new oak influence.
Vineyard Info
Weingut Schloss Lieser (founded 1904) was revived and is owned by Thomas Haag since 1997; Niederberg-Helden is a steep, south-facing Grosse Lage on blue Devonian slate producing concentrated Riesling.
Delivery is typically completed within 5–7 business days from the date payment is received.
