Tasting Note
Crushed blueberries, warm plums and chocolate-covered cherry with mocha, spice-cake and potpourri notes. Medium–full bodied, fine-grained tannins, juicy core and a spicy finish.
Food Pairing
Western: roasted lamb, grilled ribeye, duck confit, mushroom risotto. Asian: Peking duck, char siu, Korean BBQ (bulgogi), beef stir-fries, mushroom hot pot.
Production Method
Traditional Bordeaux vinification: fermentations in oak/concrete vats, malolactic fermentation, aged ~14–16 months in French oak (c.15–20% new). Second wine made from declassified parcels.

Second wine of Château Gruaud-Larose (Deuxième Cru, Saint-Julien). Estate (82 ha) owned by the Merlaut/Taillan group; Sarget named after a former owner. Vineyard moving toward biodynamic practices.
