Medium-bodied Saint-Julien second wine: plum, blackcurrant and red-berry fruits with tobacco, bay and cedar notes; soft texture, moderate tannins and a savory, juicy finish.
Food Pairing
Roasted lamb, beef tenderloin, duck confit, charcuterie and hard cheeses; Asian pairings: Peking duck, Korean BBQ (bulgogi), char siu, braised beef with soy and five-spice.
Production Method
Hand-harvested; vinified in 50% wooden vats and 50% cement vats, 20–30 day maceration; aged ~12–14 months in French oak barrels (portion new).

Second wine of Château Gruaud-Larose (82 ha) in Saint-Julien; Merlaut family owners since 1997; estate historic Grand Vin with Sarget produced as second label.
