Tasting Note
Perfumed Margaux: blackcurrant, blackberry and violet with baking spice, tobacco and cedar. Medium–full bodied, fine ripe tannins, lively acidity and concentrated fruit, finishing long and spicy with earthy undertones.
Food Pairing
Western: roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck confit, mushroom risotto, aged cheeses (Comté, Manchego). Asian: Peking duck, char siu, Korean BBQ (bulgogi), braised short rib, shiitake mushroom dishes.
Production Method
Hand-harvested; fermented in stainless vats; blended (62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot); aged ~18 months in French oak (approx. 60% new).
Vineyard Info
Classified Deuxième Cru (1855). Owned by the Wertheimer family (CHANEL) since 1994; estate ~70–71 ha, modernized winery and viticulture under technical leadership of Nicolas Audebert.
