Tasting Note

Blackcurrant and plum with cedar, tobacco, violet and menthol; spice and subtle vanilla from oak. Silky medium‑full body, firm chewy tannins, bright acidity and a long, elegant finish.


Food Pairing

Western: roast lamb, ribeye or beef short ribs, duck confit, mushroom risotto. Asian: Peking duck, char siu, Korean bulgogi or BBQ beef, soy-ginger glazed short ribs, Sichuan beef with moderate spice.


Production Method

Parcel-by-parcel fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats; malolactic in vat; aged ~18 months in French oak (≈60% new).


Vineyard Info

Deuxième Cru Classé (1855) in Margaux; owned by the Wertheimer/Chanel family since 1994. Estate ~51–52 ha; second wine is Ségla; modernized viticulture and cellar practices.
