Tasting Note

Mature Margaux — cedar, dried black cherry, tobacco, leather and dried fig with floral violet hints. Medium–full palate, firm resolved tannins, savory spice and a slightly rustic, lingering finish.


Food Pairing

Roast lamb, beef Wellington, braised short ribs, aged hard cheeses; Asian: Peking duck, char siu, soy-braised beef, Korean BBQ, mushroom or miso-based dishes.


Production Method

Parcel-by-parcel vinification in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats; extended maceration (c.18–28 days); malolactic in tank/barrel; ~18 months ageing in French oak (c.50–70% new).


Vineyard Info

Château Rauzan-Ségla, an 1855 Deuxième Cru of Margaux, owned by the Wertheimer/Chanel family since 1994. Estate modernized with parcel vinification; produces Grand Vin Rauzan-Ségla and second wine Ségla.
