Tasting Note
Deep tawny with orange hues. Elegant aromas of vanilla, dried fruits, toasted nuts, cinnamon and cocoa. Silky, long palate with almond, hazelnut, caramel and a bright ethereal freshness; licorice and toasted finish.
Food Pairing
Western: crème brûlée, nut tarts, blue cheese, chocolate desserts, roasted duck with orange. Asian: mango sticky rice, Chinese mooncakes, sesame candy, miso-glazed duck or eggplant, Peking duck.
Production Method
Blend of old-vine Douro wines fortified with grape spirit, aged for decades in oak casks in Vila Nova de Gaia, then blended and bottled.
