Tasting Note
Rich ruby colour with ripe black fruit, floral lift and toasted oak; concentrated palate of blackberry and plum, fine-grained tannins, bright acidity and cedar/vanilla from French oak; long, complex finish.

Food Pairing
Grilled or roasted red meats (lamb, roast beef), hearty stews, aged cheeses; Asian pairings: Korean BBQ, char siu, teriyaki beef, spicy Sichuan beef; also pairs well with Portuguese cuisine and roasted vegetables.

Production Method
Fermented with maceration (24–26°C) in stainless steel; aged ~9 months in new and used French (oak) barrels; bottled with minimal intervention.

Vineyard Info
Quinta do Portal is a family-owned Douro estate founded in the early 1990s; winemaker Paulo Coutinho; iconic Álvaro Siza–designed winery. Acquired by The Fladgate Partnership in March 2024.
