Tasting Note
Opaque ruby. Concentrated black and red fruits, dried plum, floral (cistus/rosemary), spice, cocoa and tobacco. Full-bodied, velvety yet firm tannins, lively acidity and a very long, sweet finish.
Food Pairing
Western: blue cheese (Stilton), aged cheeses, dark chocolate, berry tarts, roast lamb or game. Asian: Peking duck, red-braised pork (hong shao rou), hoisin-glazed duck, spiced desserts and sesame/ginger-flavored sweets.
Production Method
Hand-harvested old-vine grapes; traditional lagares/foot-treading and controlled fermentation; fortified with neutral grape spirit; aged in oak casks (typically 2–4 years for vintage styles or longer for LBV/tawny) and bottled unfiltered.

Historic quinta in the Douro near Pinhão with centenary vines. Long family history; presently managed by owners Marcelo Lima and Tony Smith with winemakers such as Carlos Lucas / Rui Cunha producing both table wines and Ports.
