Tasting Note
Deep garnet with concentrated blackcurrant, blackberry, violets, forest floor, spice and truffle notes. Full-bodied, tightly woven fruit, firm ripe tannins, bright mineral lift and an epic, racy finish.
Food Pairing
Western: grilled ribeye, roast lamb, venison, aged cheddar. Asian: Peking duck, Korean BBQ (galbi), Sichuan pepper–spiced beef, char siu. Also pairs with mushroom dishes and rich umami sauces.
Production Method
Hand-harvested, gentle destem/low-extraction fermentation in small concrete vats, aged ~16–18 months in a mix of new French oak and concrete for balance.
Vineyard Info
Owned by the Tesseron family (owners of Château Pontet-Canet) since 2016; formerly Robin Williams’ Villa Sorriso. High-altitude Mount Veeder limestone soils; biodynamic/sustainable practices.
