Tasting Note
Elegant Sangiovese with red cherry, wild berry, rose petal and Mediterranean herb aromatics; bright acidity, fine chalky tannins, saline minerality and a long sapid finish with toasted spice notes.

Roast or braised red meats, grilled lamb, pork, mushroom risotto, aged Pecorino; Asian: Korean BBQ, teriyaki beef, char siu, Peking duck, milder Szechuan or hoisin-glazed dishes.
Production Method
Hand-harvested Sangiovese; fermentation in wooden truncated-cone vats and cement, maceration ~30 days; aged ~22 months in 30hl Slavonian oak ovals, bottled after further aging.

Estate in Castelnuovo dell’Abate (Montalcino); vines average 20–25 years on clay, galestro and gravel soils. Poggio di Sotto began production in early 1990s and is part of the ColleMassari group.
