Tasting Note

Rich ruby with ripe blackberry, cassis and plum, plus spice, leather and subtle vegetal notes; juicy, well-weighted, soft tannins and a long, harmonious finish.


Food Pairing

Western: grilled steak, roast lamb, braised beef, aged hard cheeses, hearty pasta and pizza. Asian: Korean BBQ, teriyaki or char siu pork, Sichuan beef, hoisin-glazed duck, yakitori.


Production Method

Fermented in stainless steel with prolonged maceration; aged 12–18 months in French oak barriques, filtered; conventional viticulture (organic conversion reported).

Poggio al Lupo, estate in Magliano in Toscana (Maremma), founded by Antonio Moretti around 1999/2000; ~45 ha estate with ~15–16 ha planted to vine, now in organic conversion.
