Tasting Note
Crimson garnet colour. Aromas of red berries, peony and fresh mint. Dense, muscular attack with a full-bodied, juicy mid-palate, silky, well-rounded tannins and a long, balanced finish showing spice and white pepper.
Food Pairing
Western: roast lamb, grilled ribeye, duck confit, beef filet, aged cheeses (Manchego, Comté). Asian: Peking duck, Korean BBQ (bulgogi/galbi), char siu, Szechuan pepper beef.
Production Method
Grapes from selected younger vines, hand-harvested, fermented in Mouton oak vats and matured in French oak barrels (≈50% new); traditional Bordeaux vinification and élevage.
Vineyard Info
Le Petit Mouton is the second wine of Château Mouton Rothschild (Pauillac First Growth). Launched in the early 1990s, it is vinified alongside the grand vin from the estate's younger parcels.
