Tasting Note
Concentrated black-fruit core (blackberry, plum, black cherry) with cocoa, espresso, toasted coconut, licorice, graphite and Asian spice. Velvety yet powerful tannins, bright backbone and a long, smoky, chocolate-tinged finish.
Food Pairing
Western: roast leg of lamb, grilled ribeye, braised beef short ribs, aged cheddar. Asian: Korean BBQ (bulgogi/galbi), Cantonese roast duck, char siu, Sichuan-style beef, teriyaki-glazed steak.
Production Method
Multi-vineyard, multi-district Shiraz blend fermented in small parcels, matured 18–20 months in 100% new American oak hogsheads, then bottle-aged to integrate oak and tannins.
Vineyard Info
Penfolds, founded 1844 at Magill Estate, is Australia’s most famous winery. Grange is its flagship multi-district blend; modern releases crafted under chief winemaker Peter Gago and sourced from top South Australian sites.
