Tasting Note
Elegant medium-full Margaux: cassis, black cherry, violet and black raspberry with menthol, dark chocolate and garrigue. Satiny ripe tannins, vibrant acidity, minerality and a long perfumed finish.
Food Pairing
Western: roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck confit, mushroom risotto, aged hard cheeses. Asian: Peking duck, Korean BBQ short ribs, soy-braised beef, char siu, miso-glazed eggplant.
Production Method
Strict selection (26% of harvest); traditional fermentation with maceration; aged ~18 months in French oak (about 60% new).
Vineyard Info
Château Margaux is a Bordeaux First Growth; Pavillon Rouge is its second wine (named 1908) revived by André Mentzelopoulos in 1977 to improve quality.
