Tasting Note
Inky black-garnet. Aromas of blueberry compote, ripe blackberry, graphite, incense, menthol and dried Mediterranean herbs. Dense palate of black currant, cigar box and baker’s cocoa with silt-like, chewy tannins and a long, exotic spice-tinged finish.

Food Pairing
Grilled ribeye, braised short ribs, lamb chops, aged cheddar, mushroom risotto; Asian: Korean BBQ (bulgogi), Peking duck, miso-glazed black cod, spicy Szechuan beef.

Production Method
Hand-harvested, small-lot fermentations with cold-soak and extended maceration; malolactic fermentation in barrel; aged 18–20 months in French oak barrels with a high proportion of new oak.

Vineyard Info
Paul Hobbs founded his eponymous winery in 1991, crafting high-end single-vineyard wines. Las Piedras is a premium Beckstoffer site in St. Helena frequently used by elite Napa producers for concentrated Cabernet.
