Tasting Note
Deep cherry/ruby. Aromas of black cherry, blackberry, cocoa, violets, sweet spice and mineral. Palate shows concentrated dark fruit, creamy oak, ripe rounded tannins and a long balsamic finish.

Food Pairing
Roasted/grilled red meats (lamb, ribeye), game, aged Manchego, mushroom risotto; Asian: Korean BBQ, char siu (Cantonese roast pork), teriyaki beef, rich Thai or Szechuan dishes.

Production Method
Hand-harvested with double selection, 100% destemmed, pre-fermentative cold soak, stainless-steel fermentation, malolactic in barrel; aged 16–18 months in new French oak.

Viñedos de Páganos (Eguren family), founded 1998. El Puntido vineyard (≈25 ha) planted c.1975 at ~600m on calcareous-clay soils in Laguardia, Rioja Alavesa.
