Tasting Note

Ripe cherry and plum with coffee, vanilla, leather and tobacco notes. Earthy, sous-bois and spicy accents, silky texture, dusty yet resolved tannins and a long, savory finish.


Food Pairing

Western: roast lamb, grilled steak, roast pork, aged Manchego or cheddar, mushroom risotto. Asian: Peking duck, char siu, Korean BBQ beef, teriyaki steak, spicy Sichuan dishes (moderate heat).


Production Method

Hand-harvested Tempranillo. Fermented ~20 days in stainless steel with daily pump-overs; aged ~24 months in new oak (≈75% French, 25% American) and matured in bottle for minimum 36 months before release.


Vineyard Info

Bodegas Muriel (Murua family) based in Elciego, Rioja Alavesa. Family-owned group with roots back to 1926; Muriel label established in 1982. Vineyards ~35–40 years on clay‑limestone soils.
