Tasting Note

Concentrated blackcurrant, blackberry and plum with notes of cedar, incense, pencil lead, mint and spice. Full-bodied, firm grainy tannins, layered texture and an impressively long, mineral-tinged finish.

Roast lamb, ribeye or aged beef, game (venison), hard cheeses; Asian: Peking duck, Korean BBQ beef, braised short ribs, char siu, beef stir-fries with black pepper or hoisin.


Production Method

Traditional Bordeaux vinification: hand-harvested, rigorous selection, alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled vats, malolactic fermentation and ~16–20 months aging in French oak (largely new).

Château Mouton Rothschild, a First Growth in Pauillac, famed for artist-designed labels and Rothschild ownership; modern era winemaking led by Philippe Dhalluin revitalized quality from the 2000s onward.
