Tasting Note
Lime and lemon rind, lemongrass, lanolin and honeyed-toast notes. Bright citrus core, delicate minerality, silky texture and a long, dry, racy finish.
Food Pairing
Western: oysters, fresh white fish, scallops, roast chicken, goat cheese. Asian: sashimi/sushi, steamed fish with ginger & scallions, Vietnamese spring rolls, mild Thai or Vietnamese seafood dishes.
Production Method
Hand-harvested Lovedale Semillon; fruit is destemmed, must chilled and the free-run juice cold-fermented with cultured yeast, short lees contact, then blended, filtered and bottled; often released after several years bottle-age.
Vineyard Info
Lovedale was planted by Maurice O’Shea in 1946 and is Mount Pleasant’s single-vineyard flagship. Part of the McWilliam’s/Mount Pleasant estate, it’s famed for ageworthy Hunter Valley Semillon.
