Tasting Note

Inky, floral Malbec with blueberry, cassis, violet, black pepper and graphite; silky mouthfeel, bright mountain acidity and plush, velvety tannins leading to a long, espresso-tinged finish.


Food Pairing

Western: grilled ribeye, lamb chops, braised short ribs, mushroom risotto. Asian: Korean BBQ (bulgogi), char siu, spicy Sichuan beef, hoisin duck, yakitori.


Production Method

Hand-harvested mountain fruit, small-lot fermentations and maturation ~18–22 months in French oak (significant new oak). Typically bottled unfined/unfiltered.

Mt. Brave sources high-elevation fruit from the Mt. Veeder vineyard (once Chateau Potelle). Brand overseen by winemaker Chris Carpenter; part of the Jackson Family portfolio. Known for thin, rocky soils and low yields.
