Tasting Note
Rich, meaty Speyside malt with dried fruit, toffee, dark chocolate, baked apple, nutmeg, light smoke and oak-driven spice; creamy mid-palate and a long, dry slightly ashy finish.
Food Pairing
Western: roast lamb, grilled steak, aged cheddar, blue cheese, dark chocolate desserts. Asian: Chinese char siu, Korean BBQ, yakitori, miso-glazed fish or aubergine, spicy Sichuan beef.
Production Method
Distilled in copper pot stills using Mortlach’s historic multi-pass ‘The Way’ distillation; matured 12 years in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, then married and bottled at 43.4% ABV.

Mortlach distillery, founded c.1823 in Dufftown (Speyside), nicknamed “The Beast of Dufftown.” Now part of Diageo; the 12YO (aka “The Wee Witchie”) is a core aged expression.
