Tasting Note
Dense blackcurrant and black cherry fruit with graphite, crushed stone, violet and tobacco notes. Powerful, full-bodied, very structured with firm, fine-grained tannins and a long, mineral-spiced finish.
Food Pairing
Western: grilled ribeye, roast lamb, beef bourguignon, venison, aged hard cheeses. Asian: Peking duck, char siu (Cantonese BBQ), Korean BBQ (galbi), braised beef short ribs with soy, mushroom hot pot.
Production Method
Hand-harvested, destemmed, fermented in temperature-controlled vats with extended maceration; aged ~18 months in 60% new French oak barrels with regular racking and traditional egg-white fining.

Château Montrose, a 2ème Cru Classé (1855) in Saint-Estèphe (~95 ha single block), owned by the Bouygues family since 2006; modernized winemaking under Hervé Berland.
