Tasting Note
Deep, brooding Carmenère with concentrated blackberry, plum and blueberry, layered with sweet spice, dark chocolate, coffee and subtle herbal/tarragon notes. Plush, silky texture, polished tannins, balanced acidity and a long mocha-tinged finish.

Food Pairing
Western: grilled ribeye, rosemary lamb chops, roast pork, mushroom risotto; Asian: Korean BBQ (bulgogi), char siu or hoisin-glazed pork, spicy Sichuan beef, miso-grilled eggplant.

Production Method
Hand-harvested fruit; controlled fermentation with extended maceration; aged ~18 months in French oak (majority first-use) before final blending and bottling.

Viña Montes (founded 1988) produces Purple Angel from select Apalta and Marchigüe plots in Colchagua; the wine is the estate’s flagship Carmenère expression.
